Goals

From now on I’m gonna make goals for this blog in the beginning of each month and see if I manage to achieve these before it ends. I believe this will be good for the development of this blog, since I can organise my goals and I get a bit of preasure of achieving these since they go live and not just some random goals that pop up in my head.

Here it goes, wish me luck:

  • Installing the “Diggs counter”
  • Writing a post that will get at least 100 diggs
  • Getting 30 RSS readers
  • Getting 500 unique visitors

This list might be a bit optimistic, but with the right Marketing combined with the right Post I’m sure its doable. If I succeed I might write a kind of step-by-step guide of how I did this. I know it’s no big numbers, but some people might be interested :)

Of all the things you have listed in your goals, getting the 100 diggs will be the hardest of the lot. You can always pay for diggers but getting organic diggs is a really difficult thing to do. You would soon get 500 uniques than 100 diggs. I can guarantee you that much. If you like you can email me an article which you would like to submit to digg and I can give it a look over for you?

The most ever diggs I got was a paltry 7! :)

Hehe ok, I reccon it’s a hard thing to do, but if I succeed it will be so good for the blog. I have my little “tricks” of how to do it (not anything illegal), I just hope they work as good as intended :)

[…] In the meanwhile I made the adress of this blog look like this http://www.bitsniff.com/blog, which in my oppinion looks much more proffesional than the old http://bitsniff.com/blog. So if you try to enter an old post with the old adress, for example http://bitsniff.com/blog/10/goals/, you’ll end up at http://www.bitsniff.com/blog/10/goals/, which was my intention. […]

[…] Download and install the plugin Enforce www. Preference. This plugin will force all of your visitors to either the no-www or the yes-www version of your address, depending on your choice in the first step. So in this case, if anyone enter http://bitsniff.com/blog/10/goals/, they will end up at http://www.bitsniff.com/blog/10/goals/. […]

[…] Listen up everyone! I just discovered a GREAT (free) way of boosting the visitor amount to your blog. Most of the people reading this will come from that kind of promotion. Just to explain how great it is im gonna show the numbers of visitors to this blog October 2 and October 3. October 2 I got 12 visitors to this blog. October 3, the day after, I got 354 visitors, with almost no effort. In my goals of the month I made a bit optimistic goal of 500 unique visitors over the whole month. I will probably reach it today.
